Long Dry Spell

In Texas we have what we call a long dry spell. It relates to long periods between rain as well as other things. In my case it has been a long dry spell since I posted to my site. Along with being busy with other things, haven't always had Internet at Granddaughter's house where I've been staying for past several months helping her. At her new place we only have dial-up available and as those of you with it know - it is slow.

I signed in, thought about writing and gott distracted. Wonder who those people were and what they are doing with their life that told me when I got ready to retire that life would be boring and dull. HMMMM they didn't know what they were talking about.

Life is anything but dull and boring. And for some reason it seams there are less hours, less weeks, less months in a year than before I retired. Or maybe it is I can do the things I want to (as long as money holds out) and therefore I stay busy, busier, etc.

My collection of quilt kits I've been receiving, is growing; some are now complete, some only one or two blocks left to receive, and others will finish in Jan. Lucky for my pocket book I've not found any new quilt patterns (but one) that I think I just have to have. A friend bought it and every time she spoke of it, I got my Keepsake Quilting catalog out and looked it up - it grew on me. I liked it from the start, but it is an entire quilt of half square triangles and wasn't something I wanted to tackle. But I ordered the pattern and will order the material kit when it is available in Jan. It makes and 8?x9? sized quilt. Don't remember exact dimensions. The fabric is Bali and the half square triangles when put together form stars. It is bright and cheery.

Will see how my sewing skills test out when I start putting this one together.
